The ideas put forward at the First Turkological Congress remain highly relevant today. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this was stated in an address by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the participants of the "Turkic World Week" in Baku, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress.

President Tokayev noted that in such a complex and changing era, the preservation and comprehensive study of the common spiritual heritage are of particular importance. "Therefore, it is essential to strengthen cooperation among scholars and further consolidate our cultural and humanitarian partnership. Undoubtedly, today's forum was organized precisely for this purpose," he stated.

The Kazakh President emphasized that Azerbaijan holds a special place in the Turkic world. "Today, you are worthily continuing this honorable mission and actively contributing to the development of cooperation among brotherly countries. In this regard, I express my sincere gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, who initiated the holding of this prestigious gathering, and to the people of Azerbaijan," Tokayev added.

The First Turkological Congress, held in Baku in 1926, was a landmark event in the history of Turkic studies, aimed at standardizing alphabets and fostering academic collaboration across the Turkic-speaking world. The centennial commemoration in Baku serves to reaffirm the enduring cultural and intellectual ties between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and other Turkic nations, highlighting the ongoing commitment to regional integration and shared historical research.
