Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has stated that there are currently no initiatives on the agenda to change oil production volumes within the OPEC+ framework.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Peskov made these remarks in response to inquiries regarding whether Moscow would propose new production adjustments following recent tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that Russia continues its oil exports and remains committed to stabilizing prices in a market characterized by rising demand and constrained supply. "There is no other initiative on the agenda at the moment," Peskov noted, highlighting the consistency of the current agreement despite recent market volatility.
The OPEC+ alliance, which includes the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies led by Russia, plays a critical role in managing global oil supply to ensure market stability. Recently, Brent crude prices have surged by more than 9 percent, driven by heightened geopolitical risks and supply chain concerns in key maritime corridors. Azerbaijan, as an active participant in the OPEC+ agreement, consistently supports measures aimed at balancing the interests of both producers and consumers to maintain long-term energy security and price predictability in the global market.
