The FIFA World Cup, which kicks off today, will be broadcast to Azerbaijani audiences by Public Television (İTV).

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, 92 out of the 104 matches of the tournament, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will be broadcast live on İTV.

To ensure Azerbaijani viewers can watch every match of the tournament live, İTV has facilitated the broadcast of 12 simultaneous matches from the third round of the group stage on the "CBC Sport" channel. This arrangement ensures that all tournament fixtures are accessible to the public in real-time.

In accordance with licensing regulations, only 15 matches will be streamed live on İTV’s YouTube channel throughout the tournament. This selection includes the most highly anticipated games, specifically the three group stage matches of the Turkish national team and 12 matches starting from the Round of 16.

All matches broadcast on İTV will simultaneously be available for live viewing on the itv.az platform. Commentary for the matches will be provided by sports analysts from both Public Television and "CBC Sport."

The FIFA World Cup is the most prestigious association football tournament in the world, held every four years. The 2026 edition marks a historic milestone as it is the first time the tournament is being jointly hosted by three North American nations, featuring an expanded format to accommodate 48 teams.
