An official vehicle belonging to the security detail of an Israeli minister struck and killed a Palestinian teenager riding a bicycle in the occupied West Bank. The victim, identified as 16-year-old Mohammad Majdi Jaberi, was reportedly on his way to school early in the morning when the incident occurred.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, the vehicle was part of a security group for a minister residing in the Kiryat Arba settlement. The office of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir issued a statement clarifying that while the vehicle belonged to his security detail, the minister himself was not in the car at the time of the accident. The statement further claimed that the teenager had entered the road against a red light and that the driver attempted to avoid the collision. Although the office stated the boy was transported to a hospital, medical personnel cited by Israeli media confirmed that the teenager succumbed to his injuries at the scene despite all intervention efforts.

The incident takes place amid heightened tensions in the West Bank, where traffic accidents involving Israeli official convoys and security details have occasionally become points of contention. Kiryat Arba, located near Hebron, is one of the most prominent Israeli settlements in the region, and its residents, including high-ranking government officials, are frequently escorted by specialized security units. Local authorities have launched a formal investigation into the circumstances of the fatal collision to determine the exact cause and legal responsibility.
