Israeli aviation and artillery have launched intensive strikes on the southern regions of Lebanon.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, military sources report that the attacks have caused significant damage to agricultural lands, orchards, and forest areas in the region.
A military source in Lebanon told the RIA Novosti agency that Israeli military aviation, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), has been targeting the El-Mansuri and Madjal-Zun districts since the morning hours.
The artillery fire triggered fires in the area, destroying vast green spaces. Reports indicate that, in addition to airstrikes, Israeli forces have also destroyed buildings and infrastructure in border settlements through targeted explosions.
Powerful explosions were recorded specifically in the settlements of Markaba, El-Mansuri, Beyt-Yahuna, Khodeyta, and Kunin. On-site reports also noted the movement of Israeli armored vehicles and tanks in the Khodeyta district, with accounts of machine-gun fire directed toward residential areas.
Israeli fighter jets and UAVs continue to patrol the airspace over Lebanon's border regions.
The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon has been ongoing for decades, often escalating into cross-border skirmishes. These tensions are deeply rooted in regional geopolitical dynamics and security concerns along the shared border. It is worth recalling that on June 26, a framework agreement was reached in Washington, mediated by the United States. This agreement aimed to cease military operations between Lebanon and Israel, restore the Lebanese state's control over its territory, and facilitate the phased withdrawal of Israeli troops.
