The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have destroyed Hezbollah's underground infrastructure during a targeted operation in southern Lebanon.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM news agency, the official statement regarding the operation was released by the IDF press service. The mission was carried out by soldiers of the Yahalom unit in coordination with forces from the 13th Battalion of the 7th Brigade. During the maneuvers in southern Lebanon, military personnel identified and neutralized several underground facilities allegedly used for preparing attacks against Israeli forces.
Official reports indicate that a thorough search of the subterranean network was conducted before the infrastructure was completely demolished. This operation is part of a broader military effort to diminish the tactical capabilities of Hezbollah along the border regions. The Yahalom unit, an elite special operations force of the IDF's Combat Engineering Corps, specializes in sabotage, tunnel warfare, and the disposal of explosive devices, playing a critical role in neutralizing complex underground threats.
The security situation in the region remains tense as military operations continue to target strategic assets. Such underground networks have historically been a core component of Hezbollah's defensive and offensive strategy, allowing for the concealed movement of personnel and the storage of munitions. The destruction of these facilities is intended to establish a more secure environment and prevent cross-border incursions.
