A mass food poisoning incident has occurred during a wedding ceremony in the Ismayilli district of Azerbaijan, resulting in 24 individuals requiring medical attention.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AQTA) has officially confirmed the incident and initiated a comprehensive investigation in coordination with relevant local authorities.
Preliminary findings indicate that the incident took place during a wedding celebration held in a private courtyard in the village of Hajihatamli. All 24 affected individuals sought medical assistance at the Goychay District Central Hospital. Following the administration of initial medical treatment, all patients were reported to be in stable condition and have since been discharged.
AQTA specialists have collected food samples from the event for laboratory analysis to determine the exact cause of the poisoning. The agency stated that appropriate regulatory measures will be taken based on the final results of the investigation. Food safety incidents of this nature are strictly monitored by the agency, which regularly conducts inspections to ensure compliance with sanitary standards at public catering events across Azerbaijan.
