The President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, Muhammad Al Jasser, is scheduled to visit the Garabagh region as part of his official visit to Azerbaijan.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, this was announced during a meeting on May 6, where President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Muhammad Al Jasser. During the discussions, the guest noted that he would familiarize himself with the Alat Free Economic Zone and travel to the liberated territories to witness the ongoing development projects firsthand.
The visit underscores the growing partnership between Azerbaijan and the IsDB, particularly regarding the Great Return program. Since the liberation of its lands, Azerbaijan has launched large-scale infrastructure projects in Garabagh and East Zangazur, focusing on "smart city" concepts and sustainable energy. The Islamic Development Bank has historically been a key partner for Azerbaijan, financing numerous projects in the fields of agriculture, water supply, and infrastructure, and is now looking to expand its portfolio through investment in the post-conflict reconstruction efforts.
