The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has officially declared that Tehran has no connection to the recent attack on the United States Embassy in Riyadh.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the IRGC issued a statement condemning the incident and dismissing the allegations leveled against the Iranian armed forces as completely baseless.
The denial follows a report by the Wall Street Journal, which claimed that on March 3, Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeted the US diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia. According to the publication, two drones successfully bypassed Riyadh's air defense systems, entering the complex's perimeter and igniting a fire that reportedly lasted for approximately 12 hours.
This escalation occurs against the backdrop of significant regional instability. On February 28, the United States and Israel initiated military operations against Iran, which resulted in the deaths of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking officials. In the aftermath, Iran began targeting locations in Israel as well as countries hosting US and allied military bases, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, and Cyprus.
The United States maintains a significant diplomatic and military presence in the Persian Gulf region, with Saudi Arabia serving as a key strategic partner. Tensions between Washington and Tehran have historically impacted global energy markets and regional security frameworks, often leading to heightened military readiness across the Middle East. The current situation marks one of the most severe escalations in decades, drawing international concern over the potential for a wider regional conflict.
