Azerbaijan has prevented the transfer of 65.5 kilograms of narcotics from Iran using a paraglider.
The State Border Service (SBS) provided the information to Operative Information Center-OMM.
A large quantity of narcotics was discovered during border search and operational measures conducted in the area of responsibility of the Horadiz border detachment of the SBS Border Troops.
At 03:11, 65.5 kilograms of narcotics dropped from Iran into Azerbaijan by paraglider were discovered in the border detachment’s area of responsibility and removed from illegal circulation.
Operational and investigative measures are ongoing in connection with the case.
Azerbaijan’s State Border Service is responsible for protecting the country’s state border, including preventing illegal crossings and cross-border smuggling. Border units regularly conduct search and operational measures to counter the illicit movement of drugs and other prohibited goods.
