Two members of the opposition People's Mujahedin Organization of Iran (MEK), accused of involvement in terrorist acts and bombings, have been executed in Iran.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Iran's SNN television channel released official information regarding the matter. The individuals were found guilty of manufacturing explosive devices and carrying out terrorist attacks using rocket-propelled grenades against state institutions.

According to the report, the sentences were carried out on the morning of March 31 after the Supreme Court of Iran upheld the death penalty. This follows reports from Iranian media just a day prior regarding the execution of two other individuals associated with the same organization.

The People's Mujahedin Organization of Iran (MEK) is an exiled opposition group that has been in conflict with the Iranian government for decades. The group was previously designated as a terrorist organization by several international entities, though many countries have since removed this status. Iran continues to classify the MEK as a primary security threat, frequently attributing internal unrest and sabotage operations to its members. Human rights organizations often raise concerns regarding the judicial processes and the use of capital punishment in such cases within the country.
