İran Münxen Təhlükəsizlik Konfransında iştirak edəcək?

Representatives from Iran will not participate in the upcoming Munich Security Conference (MSC).

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing international media outlets, that the decision reflects the current geopolitical climate.

Wolfgang Ischinger, the chairman of the conference, announced that the organizers have officially withdrawn invitations previously extended to Iranian officials. Speaking at a press conference in Berlin, Ischinger noted that after extensive consultations with the German government, the organizers decided to rescind the invitations due to the increasingly tense situation surrounding Iran.

"Unfortunately, I have the feeling that constructive negotiations with the Iranian side cannot be conducted in Munich at this time. Therefore, there will be no Iranian government delegation in Munich," he stated.

The Munich Security Conference, scheduled to take place from February 13-15, is one of the world's most prominent platforms for international security policy. Established in 1963, the annual event brings together heads of state, ministers, and leading experts to discuss current and future security challenges. The exclusion of specific delegations often signals a significant shift in diplomatic relations or a response to domestic and international policy concerns regarding the country in question.

The conference serves as a critical venue for high-level dialogue, often hosting representatives from Azerbaijan, including President Ilham Aliyev, to discuss regional stability and international cooperation. The upcoming session is expected to focus on global security architecture and ongoing regional conflicts.
