Iran and the United States have reportedly agreed on mutual concessions as part of a broader framework to de-escalate conflict in the Middle East.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Al-Jazeera and Axios, that the two nations are moving toward a diplomatic breakthrough to stabilize regional maritime security.

According to U.S. sources cited by the agencies, Iran will be required to implement a moratorium on uranium enrichment as part of the agreement to halt the conflict. In exchange, the administration of US President Donald Trump will agree to lift specific sanctions and release billions of dollars in frozen Iranian funds. Ultimately, both parties intend to remove restrictions on transit through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global energy supplies.

Axios reports that Washington expects a formal response from Tehran within the next 48 hours. As of now, official representatives from neither the Republic of Azerbaijan nor the primary parties involved have issued a formal statement regarding the specifics of the negotiations.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most vital oil transit passages, located between Oman and Iran. It connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. Approximately one-fifth of the world's total oil consumption passes through this narrow waterway daily, making its stability essential for global energy markets and international trade security. Any diplomatic resolution regarding its transit is expected to have a significant impact on global crude prices and regional geopolitical stability.
