Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks have been recorded against United States military bases in Baghdad and Erbil.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that according to information released by Sabereen News, Iranian drones targeted American strategic positions in Iraq.
It was reported that an Iranian UAV struck the U.S. "Victoria" airbase located near Baghdad International Airport in the Iraqi capital. Furthermore, reports indicate that a day earlier, drones belonging to the Iranian Armed Forces also attacked a U.S. military base situated in Erbil. Official authorities have not yet released a formal statement regarding the extent of the damage or potential casualties resulting from these incidents.
These strikes occur amid heightened regional tensions involving various paramilitary groups and international forces stationed in Iraq. The Victoria base and facilities in Erbil have frequently been focal points for security incidents, often involving rocket fire or drone incursions. Such events underscore the complex security environment in the Middle East and the ongoing challenges faced by international coalitions operating in the region.
Under the administration of US President Donald Trump, the United States has maintained a firm stance on regional security and the protection of its military personnel abroad. The situation remains fluid as monitoring agencies continue to track developments in both Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
