The third round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States has concluded, marking the most intensive phase of discussions to date.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi shared the update via his social media account, highlighting significant developments in the diplomatic process.
"The third round of indirect talks between Tehran and Washington is considered the most intensive stage so far, and certain progress has been achieved during the discussions," Araghchi stated. The statement further noted: "Progress has been made in our diplomatic relations with the US. This stage of the talks was the most intensive yet. The negotiations concluded with a mutual agreement to continue discussing issues essential for any agreement in more detail, including the lifting of sanctions and steps related to the nuclear program."
The Foreign Minister added that technical group meetings will be held in Vienna in the coming days, running parallel to the political process. According to Araghchi, the mission of these technical groups is as vital as the activities of the political delegations. He also expressed gratitude to Oman for its mediation role and to Switzerland for providing the platform for the meetings.
The renewed diplomatic efforts come at a critical juncture as US President Donald Trump oversees Washington's foreign policy approach toward Tehran. These discussions aim to address the long-standing complexities surrounding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), originally signed in 2015. The involvement of regional mediators like Oman underscores the ongoing international interest in stabilizing the Middle East and preventing nuclear proliferation while addressing the economic impact of sanctions on the Iranian economy.
