Georgia maintains strong and positive relations with Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Armenia, according to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
As reported by Operative Information Center-OMM, the Prime Minister made these remarks to journalists during his visit to Tajikistan.
The Prime Minister noted that Georgia serves as a vital transit hub connecting seven countries to the West via the Black Sea, and maximizing this potential remains a strategic priority. He emphasized that significant investments are currently being directed toward strengthening transport links and enhancing the country's transit infrastructure.
Furthermore, Kobakhidze highlighted a positive dynamic in relations with Central Asian nations, noting that these developments will contribute to the expansion of Georgia's transit capabilities. He reiterated that the government is paying special attention to developing ties with regional neighbors and Central Asian partners to the highest possible level.
Georgia's role as a transit corridor is historically significant, serving as a bridge between Europe and Asia. The country is a key participant in the Middle Corridor (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route), which facilitates trade between China and Europe, bypassing traditional northern routes. By fostering stable relations with neighbors like Azerbaijan and Armenia, Georgia aims to solidify its position as an indispensable link in regional logistics and energy security.
