The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan has approved the "Rule for the initial military registration of male citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan."
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the decision establishes a standardized procedure for the registration of young men reaching military age. The new regulations aim to streamline the documentation process and ensure a more efficient transition for citizens into the national defense system.
The Cabinet of Ministers stated that this decision was made to modernize the existing military recruitment framework and improve the accuracy of the state's mobilization resources. Under the new rules, local executive authorities and relevant state bodies will coordinate more closely to manage the registration of eligible male citizens across Azerbaijan.
In Azerbaijan, military service is mandatory for all fit male citizens between the ages of 18 and 35. The initial registration process typically begins when citizens reach the age of 16, serving as a preliminary step before they are called for active duty. This administrative update is part of the country's broader efforts to enhance its defense capabilities and maintain a high state of military readiness.
