President Ilham Aliyev addressed the rise in global oil and gas prices during his speech at the opening ceremony of the 13th Global Baku Forum.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the head of state commented on the current market volatility, stating:
"We are witnessing an unprecedented increase in oil and gas prices. This is a blow to consumers. Not only to consumers—if anyone thinks that these unbalanced prices are only in the interest of oil-producing and exporting countries, no, that is not the case. We are in favor of more balanced and predictable oil prices."
The Global Baku Forum, organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, has become a premier platform for world leaders, Nobel laureates, and international experts to discuss pressing global challenges. This year's event focuses on regional security, energy transition, and economic stability, highlighting Azerbaijan's growing role as a key energy provider and a bridge between East and West. President Ilham Aliyev's remarks underscore Azerbaijan's commitment to global energy security and its preference for market stability over short-term price spikes, which can disrupt long-term economic planning for both producers and consumers.
