"Every time former internally displaced persons (IDPs) return to their ancestral lands, it is a celebration for all of us, a celebration for the entire Azerbaijani people," said President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state made these remarks during a meeting with residents who have relocated to the villages of Quzeyxirman and Guneyxirman in the Khojavand district.
"There is no month now without groups of former IDPs returning to their native lands," the head of state added.
The return of former IDPs to the liberated territories is a cornerstone of the "Great Return" program, a strategic initiative aimed at rebuilding infrastructure, housing, and social services in the Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions. Following the liberation of these territories in 2020, the Azerbaijani government has prioritized the reconstruction of cities and villages to facilitate the safe and dignified return of citizens who were displaced during the conflict in the early 1990s.
