President Ilham Aliyev received Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, national security adviser of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and deputy ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, on September 14.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that the guest first conveyed greetings from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the head of state.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan to convey his own greetings to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, the sides said strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE were developing successfully and expressed satisfaction with the expansion of bilateral cooperation in various areas.
They emphasized the important role played in strengthening relations by the personal friendship between the presidents of Azerbaijan and the UAE, as well as reciprocal visits and meetings by the heads of state.
The sides also highlighted the importance of the visit by a large UAE delegation to Azerbaijan in terms of discussing issues related to cooperation.
Following the meeting, a signing ceremony was held in the presence of President Ilham Aliyev and UAE National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the ceremony, the following documents were signed: an Agreement on cooperation between Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company - Masdar and Azerbaijan Green Energy Company LLC for the development of renewable energy projects in Azerbaijan; an Agreement on strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan Investment Holding and L’IMAD HOLDING COMPANY PJSC; an Agreement between AzerGold Closed Joint-Stock Company and Terra Mining Ltd on the joint assessment and exploration of the mineral-resource potential and mining areas in the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan; a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and GROUP 42 Holding Ltd on cooperation in developing a data center, high-performance computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure in Azerbaijan; a Shareholders Agreement between the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, acting on behalf of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and XRG SGC LIMITED concerning the Southern Gas Corridor Closed Joint-Stock Company; and a document confirming the financial close of the 315 MW Neftchala solar photovoltaic project between the Ministry of Energy, SOCAR and Masdar.
