The foundation of relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan is rooted in deep-seated friendship and brotherly ties.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during the opening of the IV Shusha Global Media Forum.
"My personal friendship with the esteemed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has elevated these relations to a higher level. I must note that it was the President of Uzbekistan who was the first to assist us in the reconstruction of Garabagh," the head of state said, adding that numerous economic and industrial projects are currently being implemented between the two nations.
The strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan has gained significant momentum in recent years, particularly following the liberation of Azerbaijan's territories. Uzbekistan's active participation in the reconstruction efforts, including the construction of schools and cultural centers in the liberated regions, underscores the depth of the bilateral cooperation. Both nations continue to strengthen their collaboration within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, focusing on trade, energy, and transport connectivity.
