Participants of the 20th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states have officially welcomed the recent agreement between Iran and the United States aimed at de-escalating tensions.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this development was highlighted in the final declaration adopted at the conclusion of the two-day session held in Baku.

"We welcome the agreement to end the conflict between Iran and the United States. We express our hope that this agreement will be fully implemented for the sake of regional and international peace and security," the document stated.

The OIC, established in 1969, serves as the collective voice of the Muslim world, working to safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim community globally. The organization frequently addresses geopolitical conflicts and social issues, such as the rise of Islamophobia, which was also a key topic during the Baku session.

Furthermore, session participants expressed deep concern regarding the rise of Islamophobia in various countries. "We condemn all acts of violence committed on the basis of religion or belief, as well as the incitement of hatred and extremism based on religious discrimination. We call on the international community to take measures to combat extremism, hate speech, negative stereotypes, and the defamation of religions at both national and global levels," the declaration noted.
