Hezbollah has announced that it carried out 20 military operations against the Israeli army in southern Lebanon.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the information was released by Hezbollah's press service. The group stated that the strikes were conducted using drones, artillery, and missiles, targeting Israeli manpower and equipment clusters in various sectors.
According to the official statement, the operations were carried out in defense of Lebanon and its people, as well as in response to what Hezbollah described as Israeli violations of the ceasefire, attacks on civilians, and the destruction of residential areas. The strikes reportedly targeted Israeli military positions in the areas of Taiba, Tir Harfa, Bayada, Naqoura, Rshaf, Deir es-Siryan, Adeisi, and Sarbin. Hezbollah claimed to have destroyed Israeli Merkava tanks, D9 engineering vehicles, and Hummer military vehicles, while also reporting the downing of an Israeli drone near the city of Tyre using a surface-to-air missile.
The current escalation comes amid a fragile security environment in the Middle East. Southern Lebanon has historically been a flashpoint for conflict between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, with both sides frequently engaging in cross-border exchanges. These latest developments follow international efforts to maintain a cessation of hostilities in the region, which has seen significant displacement of civilians on both sides of the border. The Israeli side has not yet issued a formal response to Hezbollah's claims regarding the specific losses or the scale of the operations.
