Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that the Islamic Republic will not bow to any foreign power or sacrifice its national dignity under external pressure. Speaking on the country's resilience, the president emphasized that Tehran remains committed to defending its sovereignty while maintaining a firm and logical stance in international diplomacy.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Pezeshkian stated that enemies cannot force Iran to surrender through military means such as missiles, bombs, or aircraft. "We will not bow down. I will not surrender to any power in any way. We will not sacrifice the honor of the country for the sake of our comfort and worldly interests," the president said. He further addressed the necessity of diplomacy, noting that slogans against negotiations are counterproductive. "We negotiate with dignity. We have rights, logic, and evidence. We can resolutely defend the rights of our country and will protect them with the support of our people," he added, stressing that logical engagement must be backed by practical action.
These remarks come at a time of heightened regional tensions and ongoing discussions regarding Iran's foreign policy and international standing. Since assuming office, Pezeshkian has sought to balance a hardline stance on national sovereignty with a pragmatic approach to diplomatic engagement. His administration faces the complex challenge of navigating international sanctions and regional security dynamics, particularly in relation to Western powers and the United States under President Donald Trump. The president concluded by reaffirming his commitment to serving the Iranian people, stating that the nation would protect its rights even at the cost of great sacrifice.
