"We are going to play against a good team. They are a unique opponent, utilizing different systems in every match. In this regard, we must be very careful and responsible," said Qarabag FK head coach Qurban Qurbanov.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the experienced manager made these remarks during a press conference held ahead of the first leg of the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round, where Qarabag will face Bulgaria's CSKA Sofia in Baku.
The head coach noted that the team has not yet reached its peak performance level but remains optimistic about their progression. "There are many positive changes within the team. The players are highly motivated and understand each other better than before. We hope to display the style of football we desire on the pitch this time. I believe we will improve from game to game. It is difficult to say exactly when we will reach our full potential, but I am confident we will achieve it," Qurbanov stated.
Addressing questions regarding midfielder Joni Montiel, who has been absent from recent lineups, Qurbanov confirmed his availability: "You will see him on the pitch this time. He is still with us. It is possible that some players' names may not appear on the match squad list; this is something that can happen to any player."
The head coach also emphasized that the club's transfer activities are ongoing. "Our work continues. We definitely want to make two signings. We hope for the best," he added.
