Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar during his working visit to New York.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan reported that the two sides discussed the current state and future prospects of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan strategic partnership. During the meeting, the high level of political dialogue and fraternal relations between the two nations was emphasized.

The ministers exchanged views on expanding cooperation in key areas, including economy, trade, energy, transport, defense industry, and humanitarian affairs. Regional and international security issues were also on the agenda.

Azerbaijan and Pakistan maintain strong bilateral ties, rooted in historical and cultural similarities. Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence in 1991 and has consistently supported Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, particularly regarding the Garabagh region. The two nations frequently coordinate their positions within international organizations, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
