Suleyman Mikayilov dismissed as head of Garadagh district

Suleyman Surkhay oglu Mikayilov has been dismissed from his position as the head of the Garadagh District Executive Authority of Baku.

President Ilham Aliyev signed a relevant decree to this effect, according to official sources. The order takes effect from the date of its signing.

The 64-year-old Suleyman Mikayilov had been serving as the head of the Garadagh District Executive Authority since 2010. Prior to his tenure in Garadagh, he held various leadership positions within the local executive branches of Azerbaijan, including serving as the head of the executive power in the Tartar and Lankaran districts.

The Garadagh district is one of the largest administrative divisions of Baku, serving as a vital industrial and logistics hub for Azerbaijan. It hosts the Baku International Sea Trade Port in Alat and several major energy and manufacturing facilities. The appointment of a new head of the district is expected to be announced via a separate presidential decree in accordance with the country's administrative procedures.
