Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, held discussions on Tuesday with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who is currently on an official visit to Islamabad.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the meeting took place at the hotel where the Iranian head of state is staying during his visit.
The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral military and political cooperation, as well as addressing critical regional security challenges. Both parties emphasized the necessity of enhancing collaboration to ensure border security and maintain stability across the region.
This meeting is viewed as a significant diplomatic engagement within the framework of the Iranian President's official visit to Pakistan. Such high-level military-political dialogues are essential for managing the complex security dynamics between the two neighboring nations, particularly regarding border management and counter-terrorism efforts, which have historically been key priorities in Pakistan-Iran relations.
