Individuals involved in the theft of antique items and household appliances have been detained in Ganja, Azerbaijan's second-largest city. According to official information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ganja Regional Group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Press Service, the suspects were apprehended following a series of targeted operations.
Theft of Antiques in Ganja: Who Was Detained?
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported that Khayal Kazımzadə, a previously convicted individual, was detained on suspicion of stealing various household items and cash totaling 8,750 manats from two private residences. In a separate operation, police officers apprehended another former convict, Naib Aliyev, for stealing mobile phones and cash from vehicles and commercial facilities. Investigations revealed that Aliyev was involved in approximately 15 separate thefts targeting shops and cars across the city. Additionally, the psychotropic substance methamphetamine was discovered in his possession at the time of arrest.
Damage Assessment and Judicial Proceedings
During a subsequent police measure, Adil Mammadov was detained and handed over to the investigation for allegedly stealing household items valued at 3,000 manats from a local residence. Criminal cases have been initiated regarding these incidents. By court order, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest has been selected for each of the suspects as investigations continue.
Ganja, located in western Azerbaijan, is one of the country's most significant historical and cultural centers. The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to prioritize the protection of private property and the prevention of illegal drug trafficking in the region.
