The Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the naval blockade and oil sanctions against Iran are lifted, according to the speaker of the Iranian parliament.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the strait will remain inaccessible until several conditions are met, including the lifting of the blockade, the release of Iran's frozen assets, the removal of oil-related sanctions, and the cessation of hostilities on all fronts, in accordance with the terms of the memorandum reached with the United States.

Ghalibaf noted that the memorandum of understanding and the subsequent ceasefire have provided an opportunity to bolster Iran's economic and military capabilities. Furthermore, the parliamentary speaker warned that any new aggression against Iran would result in a defeat far greater than previous attempts for those who initiate it.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical maritime chokepoint located between Oman and Iran, connecting the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. It serves as the world's most important oil transit route, with a significant portion of global petroleum exports passing through its narrow waters daily. Due to its strategic importance, any disruption in the strait has immediate and profound implications for global energy markets and international security.
