Search and rescue operations are ongoing in the Khazar district of Baku following a tragic drowning incident in the settlement of Mardakan. Authorities have confirmed that three of the four individuals reported missing in an uncontrolled area of the Caspian Sea, located approximately 3 kilometers from the nearest rescue station, have been recovered.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been leading the recovery efforts. Divers and rescue teams have successfully located and retrieved the bodies of Namiq Isabala oglu Azimov (born 1991), Elnur Isa oglu Abdulov (born 2005), and Elmar Isa oglu Abdulov (born 2007). The search for the final missing individual, Parviz Zohrab oglu Majidov (born 2003), remains active.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations, specifically the State Service for Control over Small Vessels and Water Rescue, continues to deploy specialized diving teams to scan the area where the individuals are believed to have disappeared. Such incidents highlight the critical importance of adhering to safety regulations and swimming only in designated, supervised beach zones in Azerbaijan, particularly during the summer season when the Caspian Sea attracts large numbers of visitors.
