Armenia and the United Kingdom have signed a joint declaration on strategic partnership, signaling a significant upgrade in bilateral ties between the two nations.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the signing on his official account on the X social media platform following a meeting with British leadership. "Today, with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, we are opening a new and promising chapter in bilateral relations based on shared values and strengthened cooperation through the joint declaration on strategic partnership between Armenia and the United Kingdom," Pashinyan stated.
The signing of this strategic partnership follows a series of high-level diplomatic engagements aimed at diversifying Armenia's foreign policy and strengthening economic and security ties with Western partners. The agreement is expected to facilitate deeper cooperation in areas such as trade, democratic governance, and regional security. For the United Kingdom, the move aligns with its broader strategy of engaging with the South Caucasus region to promote stability and support sovereign development within the framework of international law.
