Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted associate of financier Jeffrey Epstein, has reportedly proposed a deal to US President Donald Trump, offering to provide testimony in exchange for a presidential pardon.
According to reports from the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing CNN, Maxwell’s attorney, David Oscar, conveyed the offer. The lawyer stated that if granted a pardon, Maxwell is prepared to refute all allegations linking the president to the Epstein case and "clear his name entirely." During court proceedings, the attorney noted that "Ms. Maxwell is ready to speak openly and honestly if President Trump grants her a pardon."
Maxwell has also submitted a new motion to the court concerning Epstein’s associates. She alleges that 29 individuals, including four criminal accomplices, have entered into "secret agreements" with authorities regarding the high-profile scandal. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence following her 2021 conviction on multiple charges, including the sex trafficking of minors.
The Epstein case has remained a subject of intense international scrutiny since the financier's death in a New York jail cell in 2019. Under the United States Constitution, the president holds the power to grant reprieves and pardons for federal offenses. This legal mechanism has historically been a focal point in high-profile cases involving significant public and political interest.
