President of the Republic of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan for an official visit on April 21.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a guard of honor was lined up in honor of the distinguished guest at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, where the national flags of both countries were flying. President Edgars Rinkevics was welcomed at the airport by Azerbaijan's First Deputy Prime Minister Yaqub Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, and other official representatives.
Azerbaijan and Latvia maintain strong diplomatic relations, characterized by high-level political dialogue and cooperation within international organizations. This visit is expected to further strengthen bilateral ties, particularly in areas such as trade, energy, and transportation. Latvia has consistently supported the development of Azerbaijan's partnership with the European Union and has recognized Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty within its internationally recognized borders.
