The reconnection of industrial zones signifies the restoration of economic opportunities and the creation of conditions for long-term peace and cooperation. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov made these remarks during an event titled "Cities at the Center of Connectivity: Urban Reconstruction and Regional Cooperation," held as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
The minister emphasized that new transport corridors, railways, highways, energy infrastructure, and digital networks are integrating reconstructed areas into broader regional and international economic systems. "These investments promote mobility, trade, investment, tourism, and employment, while simultaneously strengthening regional interdependence and long-term stability. In this regard, their impact extends far beyond the borders of Azerbaijan, enhancing the connection between Asia and Europe and contributing to broader regional economic growth and cooperation," the minister stated.
Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that building on its internationally recognized role as a primary driver of the Trans-Caspian Middle Corridor and the North-South Corridor, Azerbaijan consistently promotes a multimodal connectivity agenda as part of its post-conflict strategy. He highlighted that the Washington Declaration, signed in August 2025, laid the foundation for the "Trump path" initiative for international peace and prosperity under the leadership of US President Donald Trump. This initiative will not only ensure unimpeded multimodal connectivity between the main part of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan region but also create a new strategic line connecting Asia and Europe through railways, highways, energy pipelines, and fiber-optic cables.
Furthermore, the minister pointed out that the Horadiz-Aghband railway and Turkey's new Kars-Igdir-Dilucu line will complement the Zangazur corridor, further strengthening regional connectivity and ties between Asia and Europe. The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, serves as the premier global platform for discussing sustainable urbanization. Azerbaijan's active participation in WUF13 reflects its ongoing commitment to the large-scale reconstruction of its liberated territories in Garabagh and East Zangazur, focusing on modern infrastructure and sustainable regional integration.
