On March 1, 2026, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a significant telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.

According to information provided by the MFA of Azerbaijan to Operative Information Center-OMM, the primary focus of the discussions was the observed military escalation and rising tensions within the region. Both ministers expressed deep concern over the recent military developments, emphasizing that the worsening situation poses a serious threat to regional security and stability.

During the talks, Jeyhun Bayramov and his Omani counterpart underscored the urgent necessity of de-escalation. They highlighted the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts to restore the negotiation process and ensure lasting peace. The ministers also stressed the vital need to protect civilian populations and critical infrastructure. Furthermore, the sides exchanged views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Oman have traditionally been characterized by mutual respect and cooperation within international organizations, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). This high-level dialogue reflects Azerbaijan's proactive foreign policy aimed at fostering regional stability and strengthening ties with Gulf nations to address emerging security challenges in the Middle East and broader Caspian region.
