Jared Kushner, an advisor to US President Donald Trump, has arrived in Israel to hold discussions regarding the resolution of ongoing tensions in Gaza and the transition to the next phase of a peace plan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, prior to his visit to Israel, Kushner met in Cairo with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, representatives of Hamas, and Nickolay Mladenov, the high representative for the Gaza Peace Council.
In Israel, Kushner is expected to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, alongside former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Nickolay Mladenov. Reports indicate that the primary topics of discussion will include the cessation of military operations in Gaza, the disarmament of Hamas, and the reciprocal withdrawal of Israeli forces from the region.
The parties are also expected to discuss the fulfillment of obligations regarding the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, as outlined in the ceasefire agreement reached in October 2025.
It should be noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously announced his rejection of a 15-point plan prepared by the Peace Council for the second phase of a ceasefire in Gaza. The first phase of the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect on October 10, 2025, provided for prisoner exchanges and an increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza. However, ongoing military operations and restrictions on aid access have complicated the implementation of the agreement.
The Gaza conflict remains one of the most complex geopolitical challenges in the Middle East. Diplomatic efforts, such as those led by US envoys, are frequently aimed at bridging the gap between Israeli security requirements and the urgent need for humanitarian relief and long-term stability in the Palestinian territories.
