Azerbaijan and Armenia have reached an agreement regarding the transportation of liquefied gas and bitumen by rail through the territory of Azerbaijan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan shared this information on his social media account. The minister noted that Armenian entrepreneurs can now begin utilizing this transit opportunity.

Recent reports indicate that liquid fuels sent from Azerbaijan to Armenia have already begun to impact the latter's domestic market. The export of these fuel products has led to a noticeable decrease in the prices of gasoline and diesel in Armenia, providing relief to local consumers and businesses.

This development comes amid ongoing efforts to restore regional transport links and economic communications in the South Caucasus. The opening of transit routes is a key component of broader regional normalization, aimed at fostering economic cooperation and stability. Azerbaijan has repeatedly expressed its commitment to transforming the region into a transport hub, leveraging its strategic location and modern infrastructure to facilitate international and regional trade.
