During the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit held in Ankara, US President Donald Trump held a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the discussions primarily focused on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and the status of Iran's nuclear program.

US President Donald Trump stated that he maintains regular contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin and expressed his belief that the Russian leader also desires an end to the conflict. Trump emphasized the necessity of negotiations between the parties, noting that while a future agreement is possible, there is no specific timeline for such a resolution.

Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his gratitude for the support the United States has provided to Ukraine. He noted that Kyiv continues its efforts to resolve the war through diplomatic channels, stressing that the current priority remains strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities.

The meeting also addressed Iran's nuclear program. US President Donald Trump reiterated that Iran acquiring nuclear weapons is unacceptable, emphasizing the critical importance of preventing Tehran from developing such capabilities.

The NATO Summit in Ankara serves as a significant platform for leaders to coordinate on global security challenges. Such high-level meetings are essential for aligning international strategies on regional conflicts and non-proliferation efforts, reflecting the ongoing diplomatic engagement between Western allies and partner nations.
