The Kremlin has disclosed details regarding a recent telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from the RIA Novosti news agency, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the dialogue served as a significant opportunity for Moscow to communicate its stance directly to the new US administration.

Peskov characterized the contact as a favorable moment to articulate Russia's position concerning the policies of Kyiv and certain European nations, which Moscow views as escalatory regarding the ongoing conflict. The Kremlin spokesperson further described US President Donald Trump's approach as consistent, emphasizing that the American leader maintains his own distinct perspective on the conflict in Ukraine.

Reports indicate that the conversation lasted approximately one hour and 25 minutes, with both sides expressing a mutual understanding to maintain future contact. Additionally, Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian President, described the exchange as "business-like and constructive."

The diplomatic interaction between the leaders of Russia and the United States remains a focal point of international attention, given the geopolitical complexities surrounding the conflict in Ukraine. Such high-level communications are historically significant, as they represent the primary channel for direct dialogue between the two global powers, often setting the tone for future diplomatic engagements and international security discussions.
