The People's Republic of China has demanded that the United States and Israel immediately cease military attacks carried out against Iran. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement regarding the matter.
In the statement, the foreign policy department noted that official Beijing is seriously concerned about the ongoing military strikes.
"We call for an immediate cessation of military operations. To maintain peace and stability in the Middle East, further escalation of tensions must be prevented, and dialogue and negotiations must be restored," the document states.
The Ministry also emphasized that China considers it essential to respect the national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The statement follows a period of heightened regional volatility involving US President Donald Trump's administration and Israeli military strategic objectives in the region.
China, a permanent member of the UN Security Council and a major economic partner for several Middle Eastern nations, has consistently advocated for diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts. This call for restraint aligns with Beijing's broader foreign policy strategy of non-interference and its efforts to position itself as a mediator in global security crises, particularly within the framework of the Global Security Initiative.
