The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, held a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, to discuss the escalating security situation in the Middle East.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, that the ministers expressed deep concern over the rising tensions in the region. During the conversation, both parties emphasized the critical importance of preventing further escalation and maintaining regional stability.

In this context, the ministers underscored the necessity of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of regional states, highlighting that neighboring countries should not be targeted. The discussion also covered the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, alongside other pressing issues on the regional and international agendas.

Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia maintain strong diplomatic ties, characterized by mutual support within international organizations such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Saudi Arabia was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence and has consistently supported Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. This latest high-level contact reflects the ongoing commitment of both nations to coordinate on security matters and strengthen bilateral strategic relations.
