Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas held a significant telephone conversation to discuss the evolving security landscape in the region.

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Operative Information Center-OMM, the sides focused on the rising military tension and the security situation resulting from recent escalations. Both parties expressed serious concern over the current developments and emphasized the critical importance of resolving conflicts exclusively through diplomatic channels.

During the conversation, the strategic role played by Azerbaijan in the evacuation of foreign nationals, including European Union citizens, from Iran was highly appreciated. The officials also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest and the broader implications for regional stability.

This high-level dialogue comes at a time when Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its role as a reliable regional partner for the European Union. The MFA frequently engages with EU leadership to ensure regional peace, particularly following the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and the ongoing reconstruction efforts in Garabagh and surrounding districts. Such diplomatic contacts are essential for maintaining the security architecture of the South Caucasus and fostering international cooperation on humanitarian logistics.
