"There is a need for decisions that go beyond the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between Washington and Tehran to resolve the conflict surrounding Iran," said Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Gargash emphasized that neither war nor the current state of affairs offers a sustainable solution. "The policy of aggression against Gulf countries and Jordan has failed. Today, there is a need for real and sustainable political decisions," he noted.
Gargash stated that these solutions must address both political and economic aspects, prioritizing the de-escalation of tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the restoration of normal maritime traffic. He further argued that the existing memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran has failed to establish a practical and acceptable action plan.
The statement follows reports that Iranian forces launched drone strikes on the morning of August 31 against US military positions at the Al-Minhad Air Base in the UAE. Iranian officials claimed the attack was a retaliatory measure for a US strike on Iran's Larak Island. Additionally, reports indicate that Iran targeted two US military bases in Jordan in response to the American actions.
