The British delegation arriving in Geneva will not participate in the ongoing negotiations regarding the situation in Ukraine.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this information was released by the Interfax agency, citing an official source. The decision marks a notable diplomatic stance as international efforts to mediate the conflict intensify in neutral territories.

Earlier, it was reported that trilateral negotiations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine had commenced in Geneva to address the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict. The third round of these high-level talks is scheduled for February 17-18. The Russian delegation is currently led by Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky.

The previous stage of these trilateral discussions took place on February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi. During those meetings, the Russian delegation was headed by Admiral Igor Kostyukov, the Chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. These diplomatic tracks are part of a broader international framework aimed at de-escalating regional tensions and establishing a sustainable peace process.

Geneva has historically served as a primary hub for international diplomacy and conflict resolution, hosting numerous peace summits due to Switzerland's long-standing policy of neutrality. The absence of the United Kingdom from this specific round of talks highlights the complex nature of the current diplomatic landscape and the varying roles of Western powers in the ongoing mediation efforts.
