The Ministry of Emergency Situations has launched a search and rescue operation following reports of a drowning incident in the Bilgah settlement of Baku's Sabunchu district. The incident occurred in an uncontrolled swimming area, approximately 2 kilometers away from the nearest lifeguard station, in a location locally known as "Dachnik."

According to information provided by the Ministry's press service to the Operative Information Center-OMM, specialized diver-rescuers from the State Service for Control over Small Vessels and Water Rescue were immediately dispatched to the scene upon receiving the alert via the "112" hotline.

Search efforts are currently underway to locate the missing individual, identified as Nizami Karimov, born in 2001. The search is being conducted in the areas where the citizen is presumed to have drowned.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations frequently conducts awareness campaigns regarding water safety in Azerbaijan. Authorities consistently urge citizens to avoid swimming in uncontrolled areas, particularly those lacking lifeguard supervision, to prevent such tragic accidents during the summer season.
