Israeli Air Force unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeted three vehicles on the Beirut–Saida highway, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the information was released by local health authorities. The strikes targeted two cars near the town of Jiyah, located approximately 25 kilometers south of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, followed by another strike on a vehicle in the Saadiyat area.
While initial reports indicated four fatalities, the death toll was later updated to eight. All of the deceased are believed to be members of the Hezbollah organization. Reports suggest that the individuals were traveling toward the southern regions of Lebanon, where active military engagements are currently taking place.
The incident occurs against a backdrop of intensified regional hostilities and frequent cross-border strikes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah. Such operations typically target the movement of military personnel and logistics along key transport corridors. The ongoing conflict continues to draw international concern regarding the potential for further escalation across the Middle East.
