Belarus has reiterated its commitment to a swift, peaceful, and diplomatic resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, calling for an immediate halt to provocative rhetoric and the ongoing supply of weaponry to the region.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, these remarks were made by the Belarusian Ambassador to Russia, Yuri Seliverstov. The diplomat emphasized that the current trajectory of the conflict is unsustainable and poses significant risks to regional stability.

"We reaffirm Belarus's firm position on the need for a rapid, peaceful, and diplomatic resolution to the conflict in Ukraine. It is time to end the reckless flow of weapons into the conflict zone and the stream of provocative statements that only bring us closer to a breaking point," Seliverstov stated.

Seliverstov further noted that Minsk welcomes and supports any efforts aimed at resolving the Ukrainian crisis and achieving sustainable peace agreements. He argued that a long-term peaceful settlement is only possible through the formation of a new, inclusive security architecture in Eurasia. This framework, he suggested, must be based on the sovereign equality of states, the indivisibility of security, and the principle that no nation should ensure its own security at the expense of others, all while upholding the supremacy of international law.

Belarus has historically positioned itself as a platform for diplomatic negotiations regarding the Ukraine conflict, having hosted several rounds of talks in Minsk during the early stages of the crisis. The country's foreign policy consistently emphasizes the importance of regional stability and the avoidance of direct military escalation, often advocating for a return to dialogue-based security frameworks in Eastern Europe.
