The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baghaei, has officially denied claims suggesting that the country's recently unfrozen financial assets are restricted to the purchase of specific goods.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, which cited reports from foreign media, Baghaei emphasized that there are no limitations imposed on the utilization of these funds.

“There are no restrictions regarding the unfrozen assets. These funds will be utilized in accordance with the country's national interests,” he stated.

Baghaei also addressed recent diplomatic interactions, clarifying that no meeting took place with Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), during recent events in Switzerland. He further noted that there is currently no program in place for IAEA inspections of Iranian nuclear facilities that may have been affected by external strikes.

The Iranian official reiterated that Tehran remains committed to its obligations under existing memorandums, provided that the United States fulfills its own commitments.

Emphasizing the necessity of adhering to established agreements to resume negotiations on nuclear issues and the lifting of sanctions, Baghaei asserted that Iran's defense capabilities and missile program are non-negotiable. “Iran's defense capabilities and missile program will never be a subject of discussion,” he stressed.

The issue of Iran's nuclear program remains a central point of contention in international relations. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal, has faced significant challenges since the U.S. withdrawal in 2018. Diplomatic efforts to revive the agreement or establish a new framework for monitoring Iran's nuclear activities have been ongoing, with the IAEA playing a critical role in verifying compliance. Tehran maintains that its nuclear program is strictly for peaceful purposes, while Western nations continue to express concerns regarding the scope and intent of these activities.
