The Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has issued an official appeal to drivers returning to their permanent places of residence following the conclusion of non-working days in Azerbaijan.

The Operative Information Center-OMM presents the appeal: "With the end of the holiday period, an increase in traffic intensity is being observed on roads of national importance as citizens return from the regions. The Main State Traffic Police Department urges all road users to strictly adhere to safety regulations, travel during daylight hours where possible, and avoid driving while fatigued or sleep-deprived."

The department further advised motorists to inspect the technical condition of their vehicles before departure, assess road and weather conditions accurately, and maintain a safe following distance. Drivers are specifically reminded to adjust their speed according to current conditions and exercise extreme caution during overtaking and other maneuvers. Additionally, the MIA emphasized the importance of taking regular breaks during long-distance trips and strictly prohibited the use of mobile phones or other distractions while behind the wheel.

Such public safety announcements are standard procedure in Azerbaijan during major national holidays, such as Novruz, New Year, or Eid, when mass travel to regional areas significantly increases the volume of traffic on the Baku-bound highways. The Main State Traffic Police Department frequently deploys additional personnel to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and to minimize the risk of road accidents during these peak periods.
